Do I need a referral from a Medical Doctor?
No referral is necessary to book an appointment with a Chiropractor. Chiropractors are primary health care professionals.
What should I expect on the first visit?
After filling in our health history forms, the doctor will review your health history. Then the doctor will perform a hands on assessment. This may include observing posture and gait, palpating the spine, testing range of motion, orthopaedic, neurological and muscle strength tests. Depending on your specific complaint, x-rays may also be taken.
What is the Report of Findings?
During the second visit called the Report of Findings, the doctor will discuss the significant findings of the examination and explain the cause of your discomfort. She will also discuss options and give recommendations for your condition.
Can I see a Chiropractor if I don’t have a specific complaint?
Absolutely. Often pain is the last sign that there is something wrong in the body. Regular Chiropractic care is an excellent way to keep your spine and nervous system stress free.
Do children get adjusted?
YES! Children’s nervous systems are working overtime as they are busy growing and learning, not to mention all of the bumps and bruises that kids get. Chiropractic has shown great benefit to children suffering from ear infections, colic, headaches, torticollis, bed wetting, attention deficit disorders, and poor immunity. Adjustments for children are modified and are very gentle. Kids love visiting the chiropractor!
Most extended insurance companies reimburse a percentage towards chiropractic care, massage therapy, or custom foot orthotics. Check your personal work policy for coverage details.
